Newfacility a winner
St Margaret’s Pre-school is delighted with its new purpose-built facility. ‘‘In this supportive and creative environment, boys and girls from two years flourish as they develop into confident, capable individuals with a love of learning,’’ says Sue Gleeson, the pre-school director.
‘‘Children are encouraged to be curious about their world and work together as responsible and caring citizens. We offer a variety of experiences throughout the week including a comprehensive Transition to School Programme.’’
Both the pre-school and junior school benefit from access to specialist teachers and all of the campus facilities such as performing arts and the Centre for Innovation.
St Margaret’s College head of junior school, Julie Calder, describes the Junior School (Years 1-6) as a ‘‘high-quality, compassionate and nurturing school, where learning experiences lead to high levels of achievement for individual students.
‘‘We take a holistic approach to our girls’ education, embracing a unique and well-balanced combination of learning areas where explicit teaching of the core subjects, literacy and maths, are a priority. This combined with specialist teaching in other curriculum areas such as arts, music, languages and sports, ensures that your daughter is being nurtured to achieve to her highest potential. Our vision for the Junior School is Responsible Citizens, Effective Communicators, Dynamic Thinkers, Self Managers (R.E.D.S.),’’ she says.
