Pike River families back in Wellington for meetings
Pike River families are back in Wellington this week for meetings with Opposition leaders, including Labour leader Andrew Little, NZ First leader Winston Peters, and the Green caucus. Their request for a meeting with Prime Minister Bill English was turned down. The families will also file papers with the Supreme Court after being granted leave to appeal the decision to drop charges against former mine boss Peter Whittall. Twenty-nine men died when the West Coast coal mine exploded in 2010.
