Labour looks for support with iwi housing package

The Press - - Politics-News -

Labour says its iwi home ownership package will enable and uphold the right to build on multi-titled Maori land. Labour’s Maori Development spokesman Kelvin Davis said 20,000 more Maori would get houses through expanded Maori home ownership programmes. These include an overhaul of the Kainga Whenua and Welcome Home Loans schemes, shared equity options, enabling iwi to access mortgages collectively to build on Maori land, and a Maori Housing Unit.
