Un­for­tu­nately as long as New Zealan­ders keep vot­ing in Na­tional we will have no hope of re­al­is­ing the 2050 tar­get of 32.3 mil­lion tonnes of net emis­sions. Cli­mate Change Min­is­ter Paula Ben­nett says our politi­cians can’t get con­sen­sus on the is­sue but the real stum­bling block is Na­tional and their af­fil­i­ates like the Fed­er­ated Farm­ers, a lot of whom don’t even ac­cept that cli­mate change is hap­pen­ing.
