Free to speak

Congratulations on Let them come (Editorial, July 7), in which you defend free speech.

The Auckland Peace Action (APA) and the Islamic Community intimidated Auckland Mayor Phil Goff into withdrawing the venue for the free speech of Canadians Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux.

The APA recently complained about police arresting its members who were breaking up a showing of a film about Ben Gurion. Apparently the patrons’ free speech does not count. These illiberal progressives just don’t get it. As for the Islamic community, we all know how amazingly liberal they are.
