Warriors duo to leave

-

Blake Green and Gerard Beale have been told to look for other clubs next season as the Warriors start the clear out of their current roster. Even though the Warriors don’t have a coach sorted for 2021, work is well underway on shaping the team for next year. Green, 33, halfback for the past three seasons and 29-year-old utility back Beale have both spoken openly about continuing to play beyond this season. However, that won’t be at the Warriors, as the club looks to upgrade its roster for 2021.

■ When Luke Keary saw how much time was left following the last minute field-goal he’d kicked to put Sydney Roosters one point ahead in Thursday’s NRL clash against Melbourne, he knew. Despite the Storm having just seconds to somehow take the game into golden point, he knew there was a twist to come. ‘‘I knew it wasn’t over. I knew they were going to kick to Suli [Vunivalu] on that short kickoff.’’ Keary’s prediction was accurate. The Storm did kick to their Fijian winger and moments later the scores was level when Ryan Papenhuyzen slotted a field goal with 10 seconds to go. Storm captain Cameron Smith then kicked the winning penalty in golden point as Melbourne claimed a thrilling

27-25 win.
