Aldridge made ND coach
Former New Zealand cricketer Graeme Aldridge (men) and former Australian representative Joanne Broadbent (women) have been selected as Northern Districts’ head coaches for the
2020-21 season. Aldridge, 43, has been part of the Northern Districts coaching contingent for several seasons and believes his time working alongside former coaches John Bracewell, Gareth Hopkins, Matt Horne and James Pamment has put him in good stead to take on the head role. He succeeds Bracewell. Aldridge had a distinguished career for Northern, playing
123 first-class matches as a pace bowler over 16 seasons from 1998-99 to 2014-15, capturing 384 wickets at an average of 28.29. He also made 138 one-day appearances for the association. He played two one-day matches for the Black Caps and one T20 international, both against Zimbabwe in New Zealand during the 2011-12 season. Broadbent takes over from Kari Carswell.
