White Ferns cap­tain So­phie Devine has been cho­sen as the out­stand­ing in­di­vid­ual of this sea­son’sWomen’s Big Bash League Twenty20 com­pe­ti­tion in Aus­tralia af­ter shining with the bat for her Perth Scorchers side. The Scorchers opener scored 448 runs prior to the play­offs in 11 in­nings at a strike rate of 130.23, av­er­ag­ing 55. She made one cen­tury, three half-cen­turies, struck 18 sixes – three more than any other player – and took five wick­ets. Devine led the vot­ing­with 31 votes, ahead of Mel­bourne Stars skip­per Meg Lan­ning (29), Syd­ney Thun­der’s Heather Knight (28), Bris­bane Heat’s Grace Har­ris (22) and Syd­ney Six­ers’ Alyssa Healy (22).
