No sign of missing boaties
Police have been unable to find two boaties missing off the West Coast after resuming the search yesterday.
The men have not been seen since their fishing boat, the Greymouth-based vessel Wendy J, got into trouble near Jackson Bay because of weather conditions.
They were reported missing after debris and a life raft were found offshore.
About 2.40pm on Saturday, a helicopter found one of three men aboard the boat near Teer Creek, about 8km southwest of where the vessel went down.
The survivor was Mark Thomas, a man in his early-20s, it was reported.
One of the missing men was Jay Cairney, an experienced fisherman. The other is understood to be Kieran Lynch, a young father.
Helicopter and ground teams had been searching yesterday since 1pm, but could not find the men.
The search was suspended for the night, and would resume this morning.
