City school locked down
Invercargill school Aurora College was briefly locked down yesterday morning while police conducted ‘‘routine inquires’’ nearby.
Parents had raised their concerns after armed offenders squad members were seen near the school.
A police communication spokeswoman initially said police were carrying out a warrant to arrest in Heidelberg and the armed offenders police.
However, she later reported it was not a warrant to arrest and that police were ‘‘conducting routine inquiries assisted by AOS’’.
The inquiry is ongoing, she said.
