After a week of playing ripper rugby and dining with All Blacks, the Limehills School ripper rugby team achieved more than just a sporting achievement, according to school principal Jim Turrell.

The team represented Southland at the New Zealand ripper rugby championships coming in fifth, the best result for a South Island team.

‘‘It’s really about more than rugby – we are getting these kids to be able to work together.’’

Turrell said the praise had to go to the team and their coach Hunter Murray for their hard work.
