Ko climbs, falls

The Southland Times - - Sport -

Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko had an improved third round and climbed 15 places, but has also fallen two shots further back from the lead, at the final women’s golf major of the year – the Evian Championship, in France. An eagle on the par-five ninth hole at the Evian Resort Golf Club – the same feat she managed in her opening round – helped 2015 winner Ko card a tidy four-under 67 in her third round yesterday. It was enough to propel her from a tie for 36th into a share of 21st place, but after starting the day eight shots off the lead, the 21-year-old found herself 10 back from leader Amy Olson, of the United States.
