Two children and their parents were injured before a bus ploughed into a shop on Auckland’s North Shore. Emergency services attended the scene on the corner of Birkenhead Ave and Hammond Place around midday yesterday. Nicson’s Pet Shop owner Susan Huang said a family of four – including two children – were injured. ‘‘The family were trying to cross the pedestrian crossing when the bus came,’’ she said. Huang raced outside when she heard a loud crash and saw the two children crying and screaming. ‘‘Their dad was just lying in the road.’’ Karen Gibson, who was collecting for charity at the time, said she saw the bus go across the crossing and hit the people who were on it. A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said four people had moderate injuries and had been taken to hospital.
