Burner challenge

The Timaru Herald - - COMMENT&OPINION -

While delivering the Nick Smith public meeting posters this week I received a wonderful reception from local businesses and staff from all over town.

The disgust expressed from the people concerning the public treatment dished out by ECan towards ratepayers was overwhelming and very supportive of our committee’s cause.

The most common subject discussed with the people I talked to related to the unfairness of the ECan attitude toward us Timaru folk, young and old alike.

I detected a real fear from some people of what is to happen in the future because they don’t have the money to replace the old burners that seem to work fine.

The message to ECan here is obtain government funding so everyone can have a new ultra low emission burner fitted.

Timaru smoky chimney problem GONE.

One of the other more serious issues discussed was the problem some people have had after the installation of their new burners.

I would like to offer to anyone in this situation to call me and we can discuss the matter further, call me on 6861754 for a friendly chat.
