Resource consents for the Waitaki District have nearly doubled for August and September this year compared to the same period last year, the council has reported. In a report to councillors, customer services group manager Lisa Baillie said 28 consents were received by the Waitaki District Council, almost double from last year. She mentioned two consents of note. One of those was a two-stage subdivision application from Waitaki Drive Otematata involving 20 lots, to be built in two stages. Another was a fully notified land use consent at Lake Ohau for a 927 square metre dwelling in the district’s rural general and rural scenic zone that was of ‘‘high local profile’’.
