Farewell to the Iro­quois

Para­pa­raumu au­thor Paul Har­ri­son will be at Lin­ton Camp to­mor­row to present an il­lus­trated talk on the history of 3 Squadron and its air­craft based on his book Seek and De­stroy, the Iro­quois Years 1966 – 2015.

Lin­ton Mu­seum cu­ra­tor Howard Cham­ber­lain hopes to see a good turnout for this talk about the Bell UH1H Iro­quois. Un­til its of­fi­cial re­tire­ment ear­lier this year, the ven­er­a­ble warhorse helo was a main­stay of De­fence Force oper­a­tions for al­most 50 years.

The pre­sen­ta­tion is in the Lin­ton Camp Re­gional Sup­port Lec­ture Room – the first build­ing on right af­ter en­ter­ing Lin­ton Camp and starts at 12.05pm. Open to all, en­try is $2


Viet­nam War vet and Air Force work­horse, the Bell UH1H Iro­quois. Re­tired from the RNZAF in May this year, the air­craft is the fo­cus of a mil­i­tary history pre­sen­ta­tion on 3 Squadron at Lin­ton Mil­i­tary Camp on Thurs­day.
