2. GAMES BEGIN
Capital E National Theatre for Children is bringing an action-packed high-paced production to the Regent on Broadway next week.
Capital E, the national theatre for children, brings the play Stealing Games to the Regent On Broadway.
Stealing Games by Gary Henderson, pitched at school audiences of 8 years and over, is a compelling story about the price of friendship.
When a playground accident involving four close friends creates a media frenzy, unsupervised playing is banned. As they’re forced to play in private ‘‘Playparks’’, the four friends find themselves separated and facing moral and personal challenges. When Brendan confronts the person who is taking his friends away, he uncovers a hidden agenda.
‘‘ Stealing Games encourages children to explore friendships and peer pressure, rights to free playtime, media sensationalism, and what we should and shouldn’t have to pay for,’’ Capital E’s Marianne Taylor explains.
Four actors play multiple roles in this physical production featuring slick choreography, humour and colourful costumes.
Attendance inquiries can be made to Capital E’s Sarah Tuck on 04 913 3741.
Jack Buchanan, Joe Dekkers-Reihana, Elle Wootton and Angela Fouhy are the Capital E performers in the touring production of Stealing Games by Gary Henderson.
