Globe’s re-build one year on

The Tribune (NZ) - - TE KARERE A HINE / SQUARE CIRCULAR -

Palmerston North’s community complex, the Globe Theatre, is celebrating. A whole year has transpired since the massive re-build which saw the addition of a new 100 seat intimate theatre alongside the main 200 seat venue. During the year this new smaller auditorium has seen many successful performing arts productions, all complementing the events held in the larger auditorium. The enlarged foyer has also proved an inviting function space and is used for business, community and private functions. The Globe has worked hard to ensure that all venues can by hired by local community organisations at very competitive rates, and invite the public to come and check out the facilities if planning an event. Theatre manager Bruce Warwick says he is happy to talk to anyone and show them around the facilities. “The smaller theatre has the advantage of being able to be converted into a flat floor space, so perfect for setting up tables. Come and have a look, you won’t be disappointed at what the Globe has to offer you!”
