The Tribune (NZ) - - YOUR PLACE, YOUR PAPER - Richard Mays

Entertainment plays a big part in the life of this town. Whether it’s last week’s secondary school Pasifika Fusion Festival and Brit comic Alan Davies in the Regent on Broadway, or the New Zealand Jazz Youth Orchestra at the Globe, a dance recital or mainbill theatrical performance, there is always plenty going on.

For a small city we are certainly spoiled for choice and diversity. At the end of each month, we like to give you a heads up about shows, performances, exhibitions, places to visit and places to dine in Enjoy!, our liftout entertainment and events guide. Grabbing the lion’s share of on-stage attention in August will be Abbey Musical Theatre’s production of Mamma Mia! and Centrepoint’s production of Frankenstein.

At Te Manawa there’s Sunlight and the National Geographic exhibitions, while at Arena the Turbos have their first home game against Waikato on August 22. Do take the opportunity to get out and Enjoy!
