Young stars play in fundraiser

The Grazioso Trop, Reach for the Stars in­ter­me­di­ate win­ners in 2013, join a fundrais­ing con­cert line-up at St Peter’s Angli­can Church on Satur­day af­ter­noon.

The trio, flautist Mar­ian Sun, vi­o­lin­ist Amy Srichantra and pi­anist Changhee Cho are stu­dents of lo­cal mu­sic teach­ers, Jean­nie and Nick Hunter (pi­ano), Christy Hunter (flute) and Marise McNeil (vi­o­lin), and for the con­cert will be play­ing a com­po­si­tion writ­ten by Nick.

The Grazioso Trio, who of­ten pro­vide mu­sic at wed­dings, will be joined by 20 or so other young emerg­ing mu­si­cians, in­clud­ing three diploma can­di­dates per­form­ing so­los.

St Peter’s Church is fundrais­ing to build a fence be­side the com­mu­nity hall on Ruahine St to pro­vide an en­closed play space for chil­dren.

Tick­ets for the 3pm con­cert this Satur­day Au­gust 1 are $5 for adults, chil­dren are free.

Tick­ets are door sales only and in­clude af­ter­noon tea.
