ORDER OF THE CARTER

The Tribune (NZ) - - VIEWS CONVERSATIONS -

In your article about Olympian Hamish Carter’s visit to Palmerston North, you conclude by saying that Prime Minister John Key is the most high-profile guest at Rotary’s Youth Plus motivational event series.

I have to disagree. Mr Key is merely the prime minister of a tiny country in a remote part of the world, and he only got there by being one of the wealthiest men in that country.

Hamish Carter on the other hand is easily the highest profile guest to date. Not only has he performed at the highest level globally in a highly competitive sport for several years, he has also gained an honour that only a few people can lay claim to – an Olympic gold medal. He IS a star.
