FlipCity offers new trampoline experience like no other

The Tribune (NZ) - - THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT -

Forget about your trampoline at home – FlipCity is a new uplifting challenge.

FlipCity at 550 Main Street, across from Smith’s City, has been operating for about 10 weeks and already thousands of people have been transformed by an experience like no other.

FlipCity, the brainchild of the Dunstan family, opened on July 25 and, at peak times, now offers the challenge to up to 450 people daily. It has 972 square metres of inter-connected trampolines that 40 people can use safely at one time.

The trampolines are divided into six different obstacles, each with their own challenge and, in the hour-long sessions, participants or park jumpers move from one to the other.

Some trampolines are two metres high, accessed by a challenge wall that needs to be conquered while other are angled so park jumpers can bounce from wall to wall without touching the ground.

‘‘FlipCity is totally different from the trampoline in your backyard,’’ says business manager James Price.

‘‘It’s an opportunity to be uplifted in every sense of the word and gives participants a unique experience, both physically and mentally.’’

He says it’s an ideal school holiday activity where individuals or parties can come along and enjoy the hour-long physical workout.

But it’s more than healthy fun on state-of-the-art equipment. James explains the core purpose of FlipCity is to impact on people’s lives. ‘‘We believe in self worth, personal growth and innovation. Together we achieve your potential,’’ he says.

‘‘Uplifting means we’re united as a team, we place others before ourselves, we look and feel sharp, we inspire through influence and innovation, we freely contribute ideas and we take the initiative.’’

People of all age groups will benefit from the challenge and exercise. If you’re 60 and over, you can jump at FlipCity for FREE.

‘‘We have corporate groups, schools, university students, members of the NZ Defence Force and church groups coming along to test themselves against our equipment,’’ James says.

‘‘Over the holidays FlipCity will be open seven days a week from 9am to 10pm. Youngsters can come to the on-the-hour, everyhour sessions with their parents or be dropped off and our trained staff will look after them.’’

Casual entry is $10 an hour for children under 110cm and $16 an hour for over 110cm, $2 for socks, over 60s free and $10 for each additional hour.
