Dr Libby comes to town
Dr Libby Weaver – leading nutritional biochemist, author, motivational speaker and Tribune columnist is in Palmerston North next Monday night. It’s a rare chance to meet one of Australasia’s leading authorities on personal wellbeing.
Dr Libby’s Why Are You So Tired? seminar on Monday 5 offers practical support for her latest book Exhausted to Energised.
So, why are we so drained? The reasons, she says are different for each and every one of us.
‘‘One of the main reasons is that we are taking on more and more, demanding more of ourselves mentally and physically than ever before.’’
There’s the ‘struggle with restorative sleep and compensate with stimulants’ cycle, combined with underlying biochemical and emotional processes.
‘‘I see so many people who have created amazing lives – children, partners, work, study, travel… yet they can’t enjoy the life they’ve created because they are too exhausted,’’ Dr Libby says.
I want to help people live their lives with more energy so that they can enjoy what they’ve created.’’
Symptions such as fatigue, low mood, anxious feelings, apathy, unrefreshed sleep or insomnia, brain fog, lowered resistance to infections, stiffness, digestive problems, ‘‘unexplained’’ changes in body fat levels, and signs of rapid aging are just some of the ways our body can let us know that we are becoming physically, mentally and/or emotionally exhausted.
Her book explores where energy comes from, how it is made, what depletes it and how to reignite it.
Why Are You So Tired? is on this coming Monday in the Elwood Room, Centennial Convention Centre, 354 Main St at 7pm.
Pre-sale tickets are $39.95 at DrLibby.com with door sales $45.
