Mount Biggs school wins big

While the Turbos languish at the wrong end of the ITM Cup competition table, Manawatu’s Mt Biggs School has scored big.

Mt Biggs Primary has won the local ITM Cup ‘We Love It Here’ contest for collecting the most ITM Cup stickers given out at Turbos home games.

With a total collection of around 100 stickers adorning their sticker chart, the small country school has picked up the grand prize of a $10,000 working bee.

Principal Raewyn Marshall says her pupils have been collecting the stickers for about five weeks, and the prize money has been earmarked for a paved outdoor area and raised gardens.

A rose garden and seating area for the kids could also be on the cards. Raewyn says half of the money would be spent on building materials and the other half on labour.

The school’s cause was helped greatly by four ardent Turbos fans. The two pairs of brothers have already won it a sack of Adidas rugby balls.
