The Tribune (NZ) - - WELCOME -

Talk about spoiled for choice. As February rolls into March, events tumble from the sky like autumn leaves.

The Festival of Cultures hits The Square from this Friday night, earlier in the month than usual, with the traditional lantern parade welcoming the Year of the Monkey.

Saturday, it’s the World Food, Craft and Music Fair with all its delectable tastes and flavours, along with its continuous concert, and Sunday there’s the inaugural national New Zealand Food Truck Faceoff.

Backing up a bit, Thursday is opening night for Summer Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor and Abbey Musical Theatre’s Sweeney Todd. Friday there’s another Village Night Market, and Saturday there are two performances of the Rescue Helicopter’s Medics Make Music 2 in the Regent on Broadway. And that’s just for starters.

For things to do and see, our What’s On and entertainment pages are straining at the margins.
