Trip to Paris on the line for best photographer
If an all-expenses paid week-long stay in the City of Light sounds enticing, grab a camera. An international photo competition with Gay Paree as the grand prize is open to local amateur photographers for the second time.
Sponsored by Alliance Francaise, the theme of last year’s competition was ‘Climate, State of emergency’. This year it is ‘Objectif sport’
Soizic Legrand from Alliance Francaise says the sporting themed competition is open to all adult amateur photographers, and can include students. Entrants are invited to submit one entry of two sports related images by May 6.
Entries will be assessed by a local jury with senior UCOL photography lecturer Ian Rotherham, Isabelle Poff-Pencole from Alliance Francaise, Manawatu Standard photographer Warwick Smith, and professional photographer Bernadette Peters.
Participation is free with entry available from Alliance Francaise in Square Edge, at info@ french.org.nz, and by phoning 560 0749.
The local winner will be forwarded to the Fondation Alliance Franc¸aise in Paris to be judged alongside the other international entries. The overall winner in Paris gets the trip.
Wellington amateur photographer Trish Smart had her entry included in the finals of last year’s international Fondation Alliance Francaise themed photo competition.
