At G&H Training, our Practical Construction Skills Course is specifically for 16 to 19 year olds who suit a more hands-on learning style. It is perfect for young people who may be at risk of leaving school without the qualifications they need to succeed in the job market. This course includes the National Certificate in Building Construction and Allied Trades Skills and carpentry units that count towards a building apprenticeship. The learning is centered on practical activities in our fully equipped workshop which is then supported by small group study. Students learn both construction theory and practical skills. They also learn useful work skills, literacy and numeracy for the workplace, and first aid! Students who are successful on our Practical Construction Skills Course can possibly gain their NCEA Levels 1 & 2, ensuring that our graduates have both academic and practical qualifications when entering the workforce.
