Treat mum at La Patio on May 8
Sam Hapeta loves Mother’s Day. It’s the occasion when he can treat his mother to a delicious Mother’s Day meal but it’s one of the busiest days of his life. His family cafe caters for nearly 200 people with their special Mother’s Day lunch and dinner menu.
This year on May 8 he’s going to do both.
Sam is treating Leonie, his mum, to the finest Mother’s Day meal he can provide as well being part of a team that celebrates Mother’s Day with the best cuisine in the city.
La Patio Cafe´ at Hotel Coachman is again hosting its legendary Mother’s Day hot roast and dessert for $35 at lunch (11-2pm) and dinner (6-10pm).
‘‘We provide a special Mother’s Day menu so mums don’t have to cook at home and clean up afterwards. Instead we will spoil her at La Patio,’’ Sam says.
‘‘We plan it as a family occasion so her nearest and dearest can come and be part of our Mother’s Day treat.’’
The appetising menu starts with scrummy bread rolls followed by a salad selection including everything from fancy lettuce, cherry tomatoes, feta and olives to harlequin coleslaw, red and white gourmet potato salad, green beans and seeded mustard.
The hot selection consists of tantalising mushroom penne pasta carbonara, a roast vegetable medley and steamed summer vegetables with olive oil infused with lime.
Then to accompany the salads and vegetables, La Patio’s Head of Kitchen, Russell Chapple, will prepare tasty Angus roasted scotch fillet with Yorkshire puddings and honey mustard honey glazed champagne ham on the bone.
But the Mother’s Day treat doesn’t end there.
Guests have a choice of chocolate and orange truffle torte served with chocolate sauce or fruits of forest cheesecake served with raspberry coulis for dessert.
And just for mum there’s a chocolate gift to complete the meal.
Sam, who is sales coordinator at Hotel Coachman, also recommends a wide selection of sparking and still wine, beer and fruit juice to accompany the Mother’s Day treat. Traditionally La Patio’s famous Mother’s Day meal attracts people from out of town.
Sam reminds them that they don’t have to go home afterwards.
Hotel Coachman is offering a special discounted rate of $125 for those who want to stay over in one of their comfortable rooms and travel home the following day.
However, Sam says bookings for the Mother’s Day lunch and dinner are essential.
People should ring Hotel Coachman on 06-356-5060 or email email@example.com.
He’s already booked a table for Leonie.
