The Tribune (NZ) - - WELCOME -

Yes, the rain has been welcome. It may have slightly dampened last week’s Massey graduations, but at least apart from one particular downpour, the city has been spared any extreme weather events.

The benign autumn continues, with local lawn-mowing businesses continuing to make ‘hay’ thanks to the extended grass-growing season.

Even our lead story about the dedication of surf life saver Lizzy Baty helps foster the ‘endless summer’ impression.

No excuses then for not getting out and enjoying what we have, even if a certain person overheard in a city cafe, seemed annoyed by the delay to the start of winter. Perhaps the lady in question had a stock of winter clothing she was either hoping to sell or impatient to wear.

The cold will come soon enough.

In the meantime there’s plenty on in our little patch of Palmydise, so make sure you make the most of it
