Could the gov­ern­ment be go­ing off the rails, lit­er­ally?

Amidst a bud­get that could have, but did not ease Manawatu’s trans­port chal­lenges, we have a claim that the Palmer­ston North rail ser­vices con­tinue to be at risk.

Truth is, we de­serve bet­ter than we get.

It’s time we push for a bet­ter, greener con­nec­tion with the cap­i­tal, elec­tri­fy­ing the line, phas­ing out un­healthy diesel lo­co­mo­tives, and restor­ing road safety by putting the bulk of city to city freight on the rails. Brent Bar­rett Palmer­ston
