The Tribune (NZ) - - MID WEEK MOTORING -

Subaru has launched its Legacy wagon/Impreza WRX hatch-replacinG Levorg in New Zealand, just as it has been awarded a fivestar safety rating from the Australian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP).

The Levorg comes standard with an impressive list of the latest safety features including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and three stages of Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), enabling it to avoid a crash or slow down at high speeds, low speeds and when it detects a pedestrian in the path of the vehicle.

‘‘We’re increasingly seeing manufacturers offer AEB as a standard feature in the new cars released so far this year, something that wasn’t as common in New Zealand last year,’’ says AA motoring services general manager Stella Stocks. ‘‘It’s still rare to see all three AEB functions offered as standard. It’s great to see Subaru differentiating itself this way.’’
