The Tribune (NZ) - - MID WEEK MOTORING -

Straight from the ‘‘we won’t see it here’’ department is Ford’s latest commemoration for the time it gave Ferrari a damn good thrashing at Le Mans in 1966. and this year as well now!

The all-new 2017 Ford GT (which isn’t coming to NZ) will now be available in a limited-edition ‘heritage theme’ honouring the GT40 Mark II driven to victory by New Zealanders Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon at Le Mans in 1966 – part of the historic 1-2-3 Ford GT sweep of that year. The car will feature unique interior and exterior colours, and an exclusive wheel finish.

The Ford GT ‘66 Heritage Edition features a Shadow Black exterior in either gloss or matte finish with silver stripes, and an exposed carbon fibre package. The car sports Frozen White #2 hood and door graphics, and 20-inch onepiece forged aluminium wheels in a gold satin clearcoat with black lug nuts.
