GET REAL WITH RATES
I agree fully with the views expressed by Martin Egan ( Tribune, July 13). PNCC has to control its spending. A good example is the time, effort and money spent on road works in King St (resulting in reduced car parking) and the roundabout at the Albert St and Ferguson St junction. To me it seems as though the council was making sure its unspent budget is fully spent before the year’s end. You don’t have to make sure you spend all your roading budget willy nilly ... be a more responsible, frugal and conscientious representative of the ratepayers who elected you. As Martin pointed out a large number of your ratepayers live on very limited incomes.
