Small com­pany, big rep­u­ta­tion


Wat­son Real Es­tate might be a small, fam­ily owned Palmer­ston North com­pany but it con­tin­ues to make its pres­ence felt na­tion­ally and in­ter­na­tion­ally.

The Real Es­tate In­sti­tute of New Zealand held the 2016 REINZ Awards for Excellence last week and once again Wat­son Property Man­age­ment staff were to the fore.

Sarah Jones was run­ner-up/fi­nal­ist in the cat­e­gory of Res­i­den­tial Property Man­age­ment Sup­port Per­son of the Year, an award she won in 2015.

Deena Lin­coln was run­ner-up/fi­nal­ist in the cat­e­gory of Res­i­den­tial Property Man­age­ment Ris­ing Star of the Year, an award for staff who have been in property man­age­ment less than 18 months.

Wat­son Real Es­tate Property Man­age­ment Business De­vel­op­ment Man­ager and com­pany owner Greg Wat­son said he was in­cred­i­bly proud of his staff mem­bers at the Real Es­tate In­sti­tute of New Zealand Awards of Excellence. ‘‘They were the only two in­di­vid­ual fi­nal­ists from Palmer­ston North to be­come fi­nal­ists. These vir­tu­ally puts them in the top three in New Zealand.’’

REINZ, to­gether with more than 400 mem­bers, cel­e­brated the suc­cess of 38 of their mem­bers and col­leagues at the Awards for Excellence.

‘‘With the real es­tate mar­ket hav­ing been so com­pet­i­tive over the past 12 months, es­pe­cially in re­gions where sup­ply is low, it was a tight race,’’ says REINZ Chair­man Dame Rosanne Meo. ‘‘Tonight is our op­por­tu­nity to re­flect on the con­tri­bu­tion that real es­tate in­dus­try makes to the New Zealand economy. Many of our mem­bers and their brands sup­port a num­ber of char­i­ties and com­mu­nity projects as well as run suc­cess­ful, pro­fes­sional busi­nesses and this is tes­ta­ment to the ded­i­ca­tion they have to the in­dus­try and to sup­port­ing this great coun­try.’’

Greg has also been the re­cip­i­ent of a re­cent award. He was named the num­ber one Business De­vel­op­ment Man­ager for the In­spired Growth Train­ing Net­work.

Deniz Yusuf, of IGTP, said IGTP is run in three coun­tries and Greg has been recog­nised as the best. In con­grat­u­lat­ing Greg Deniz said he con­tin­ued to push bar­ri­ers as a Business De­vel­op­ment Man­ager and he looked for­ward to their con­tin­ued work­ing re­la­tion­ship. IGTP is a train­ing pro­gramme run by, which aims to bring the best out of every agent who is in­volved in the pro­gramme which in Aus­tralia, New Zealand and Amer­ica that net­work to­gether for op­ti­mum guid­ance and per­for­mance for clients. ‘‘Greg has been awarded as the 2016 In­spired Growth Business De­vel­op­ment Man­ager of the year be­cause of the fan­tas­tic re­sults achieved.’’
