FROM THE EDITOR

The Tribune (NZ) - - YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE -

Most people should have received their voting papers for the local government elections by now.

There’s still a couple of weeks until each postal vote needs to be in on October 8 so there’s a little bit more time to consider who you’d like to see on our city council, district health board and regional council.

Local government elections typically have a low voter turnout and it would be a shame to see too many people in our Palmerston North community feeling complacent about who is to become the leaders in our community.

I’d encourage you all to make an effort to seek out information on the candidates, decide what issues are important to you and vote.

The opportunity only comes around once every three years so make the most of it.
