Ali’s tribute to divas

The Tribune (NZ) - - SAVOUR -

Make sure that legendary divas fill your life this Sunday.

Following the success of Doris Day, New Zealand entertainer Ali Harper is bringing her latest show to the Regent on Broadway on October 2 at 6pm.

Ali is reigniting powerful torch songs made famous by well-known legendary women and channelling them all into one impressive performance.

Legendary Divas honours outstanding women that inspired us all with their music. These talented, hardworking original and courageous women have given so much of themselves no matter the price – Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield, Judy Garland, Doris Day, Barbra Streisand and many more.

Expect nostalgia, comedy, audience participation, a rip roaring ‘80s medley with a splash of Madonna as well as many stories to enlighten the audience – Edith Piaf’s connection with the French Resistance, a Julie Andrews’ My Fair Lady spoof and Dolly Parton’s love for nip and tuck.

Ali is joined by Wellington’s much-loved Michael Nicholas Williams on piano for Sunday’s spellbinding evening.

Within a week of Ali’s legendary performance, the Regent on Broadway presents Trash Test Dummies who bring their wheelie bins to the theatre on October 7 at 4pm.

Trash Test Dummies are worldclass circus performers who take fun to new heights.

The three performers are passionate about creating innovative circus and physical theatre works that demonstrate the greatest jaw-dropping skills and take audiences on a journey into their playful imagination where they explore the infinite use of everyday objects in the most hilarious way.

Book both shows through TicketDirect.
