The Tribune (NZ) - - YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE -

Meli Berends, who features in our Page 4 story, is an amazing and inspiring young woman.

The UCOL photography student was awarded for a series of self-portraits showing her own journey with breast cancer.

Not only does it show that it’s possible to triumph over this prolific and horrible disease, but it shows how brave this young woman was when going through something not many young people are affected by.

That is something else to take away from her photos and story - that young people can indeed be affected.

Her dedication to bringing awareness is admirable.

I hope everyone enjoyed the long Labour Weekend break, especially while the great weather lasted.

It looks like those who took a ride on the spooky Halloween train had a frightfully good time. Hopefully the rain holds off for the next few train trips as well.
