IT’S YOUR TURN TO TELL US WHAT YOU THINK

We want your thoughts

The Tribune (NZ) - - SAVOUR -

It’s your turn to tell us what you think. The Council makes lots of decisions about day to day things that affect you. The better we understand your views, the better decisions we make. That’s why we consult with you.

We are preparing development plans for Memorial Park and Waitoetoe Reserve. Memorial Park already has a wide range of activities for the whole family. You can feed the ducks, cool off in the paddling pool on a hot summer day, or watch a football match. Waitoetoe Reserve is at the bottom of Maxwell’s Line and includes the wilderness area down to the River. Both areas provide lots of opportunities for recreation and we want to get a wide range of ideas on how to best use them. So, what would you do with them? Between now and the end of November we will be holding events, such as a Memorial Park Fun Day on the 26 November, to make it easy to have your say. If you want more information please go to our website. We are also developing a Wastewater Bylaw. Wastewater is basically what goes ‘down the drain’ from your home, work, school, sports club, etc. The bylaw will set the rules about what people can put down the drains, how buildings can be connected to the wastewater system, and who is responsible for fixing blockages to the system. It is very important that we understand people’s expectations and get it right. We need to hear from you by the 11 November. For more information about either of these, check our website: pncc.govt.nz/consultations
