The Tribune (NZ) - - YOUR PAPER, YOUR PLACE -

Palmerston North has largely missed out on the catastrophes happening around the country in the past week, with major earthquakes, after shocks and flooding taking its toll.

But while our problems back home can seem small it doesn’t mean they’re any less emotional or horrific for those involved.

Take for example Hunny, the poor dog who has been missing since November 11 after being washed down the Manawatu River.

Hunny’s owner Cherie Glendenning is staying positive but it’s no doubt a heart-rending time as pets are family members, too.

There’s been some great events happening around the city lately and it’s good to see people out there taking part.

The events calendar will only be ramping up as we move into Christmas and the holiday season, so let’s hope the weather improves as well.
