A new location and look for Hospice Shop
Bargain hunters will soon have a new shopping destination.
The Rangitikei St Arohanui Hospice Shop in Palmerston North shop has outgrown its current site and is relocating after more than six years in the same spot.
The shop has been at 285 Rangitikei St since 2010 and is in the process of moving to the corner of Walding and Lombard streets, in the old Stewarts Electrical Building.
The last day of trading at the Rangitikei St shop was last Thursday.
The new store will be open from February 3.
Hospice director of strategy and operations Louise Curtis said they had been looking for a larger store with more off-street parking and a larger drop-off zone for donations.
‘‘We have been struggling with limited customer and volunteer car parks, and the congested dropoff area at the back of the Rangitikei St shop was beginning to be a concern.
‘‘We will also benefit from bigger sorting and storage spaces and more shop space to help us make more of our donated goods available for sale.

Ohakea airforce personnel will help with the move by providing some personnel to help shift larger items, while Mitre 10 has offered the use of its large truck.
Collectively, the six shops run by Arohanui Hospice contributed more than $900,000 towards its annual funding shortfall of $2.5 million between July 2015 to June 30, 2016.
