The Tribune (NZ) - - NEWS -

Our mayor Grant Smith is excited about where our city is at and where it’s going - rightly so.

Smith has delivered his State of the City address over the past week and has done a really good job of shining the light on our successes.

We have a growing population, a supportive and multicultural community and our economy is in a good place.

There’s a massive investment coming for our defence force bases, the Massey food science centre, the development of roads and bridges, city upgrades and a new international hockey turf.

Let’s hope we, as a city and community, really do realise our potential over the coming years.

Personally, I’m most excited about the new pedestrian and cycle bridge across the Manawatu River, which will be a boon for those living in Linton and the Massey area, as well as fitness buffs.

What are you most excited about?
