42,000 Sheep For Sale on a Sin­gleDay In 1902, Feild­ing claimed a North Is­land record for the num­ber of sheep yarded at sale - 42,000. This was not eclipsed un­til the 1937 sale of over 50,000 sheep. This photo was prob­a­bly taken dur­ing the record sale. The Feild­ing clock tower is vis­i­ble in the back­ground.
