Commit to a green mindset

The Tribune (NZ) - - NEWS - IOLA HAGGARTY, FRIENDS OF WAITOETOE PARK

This year Friends of Waitoetoe Park, Horizons and PNCC will be planting and mulching trees, to celebrate Earth Day 2017, once again at Waitoetoe Park.

The time is from midday to 2.30.pm. with a barbecue and fruit to be enjoyed by everyone. Come and show your support to combating climate change in a practical manner, check out the area that was planted last year, and help to mulch the already planted areas.

The theme this year is sharing knowledge and raising awareness of the need to cut carbon emissions worldwide.

Practical small changes, by reducing waste, composting and changing to glass and paper instead of plastic, is something that every household can aim to do in the next 12 months.

PNCC and Horizons are committed to green spaces, tree planting, biodiversity, and waste management, and with help from the community these important issues can be controlled, managed and minimised.
