New look Stihl Shop one year on

The Tribune (NZ) - - TERRACE END -

Having just celebrated one year in their new premises Stihl Shop Palmerston North owner Robin Adlington is extremely pleased with how successful the year has been.

‘‘With our much larger showroom we are now able to display all our products including our large ‘rideons’, which gives plenty of room for our customers to view them and get a feel for the different products.’’

Despite the flood of outdoor power equipment coming on the market, Robin and the team believe in quality.

Sales and Service Manager Mark Detrey says: ‘‘The initial cost may be more but we want our customers to know that they can rely on our products. With regular servicing and general maintenance in our service department, these products will go on doing a quality job for years.’’

Robin says that the move has also meant their service department has expanded and they have recently taken on two new trainees to cope with demand.

‘‘Due to the wet summer and autumn, all outdoor equipment, especially mowers, have had a good deal of use and to cope with this extra grass growth it pays to keep the blades sharpened and the machine regularly serviced,’’ Mark says.

The wet weather has also meant many customers are looking at upgrading their equipment and Mark says that Stihl currently has a promotion where you will receive an upgrade on selected chainsaws and hedge trimmers.

While petrol power remains a popular option many customers are now turning to the Stihl battery range of power tools, not only because of their convenience but, as Mark says, ‘‘these tools are generally lighter and easier to handle. They are ready for instant use with no need for fuel or power leads, they are much quieter and recharging only takes about an hour. Another important feature is that once you have purchased the battery pack it can easily be switched between all the other tools in that range’’.

Stihl has just released a second range of cordless equipment. If you’re thinking of going electric or you just need to upgrade your existing equipment then call in and talk to the experts while you take a look around the extensive range of quality power equipment at Stihl Shop Palmerston North, 711 Main St, in Terrace End.
