Gary Mullen is the champion
When it comes to resurrecting the spirit of the late, great Freddie Mercury, no one comes closer than Gary Mullen. The winner of the UK version of Stars in Their
Eyes – with more than 800,000 votes, the largest in the show’s history – Mullen is the exception to the saying ‘‘accept no imitations.’’
One Night of Queen, starring Gary Mullen, performs at the Regent on Broadway. Since winning Stars in Their
Eyes, Mullen has toured the world with his breathtaking show. His uncanny vocal resemblance to Freddie Mercury has enthralled people throughout the UK, USA, Europe, South Africa and now New Zealand.
It has even impressed the surviving members of Queen. Mullen was personally invited by the band’s guitarist, Brian May, to attend the Queen and Paul Rodgers Show.
One Night of Queen, performed by Gary Mullen and The Works, is a spectacular live concert, recreating the look, sound, pomp and showmanship of arguably the greatest rock band of all time. Their concert will feature hits such as I Want to Break Free, A Kind of Magic, We Will Rock You and, of course, Bohemian Rhapsody.
Reviewers around the world have raved about Mullen’s likeness to the late Freddie Mercury. The Press in Christchurch wrote ‘‘Last night I would probably have believed that the band performing were the real Queen and that Mullen was the real Freddie Mercury if I had not been aware that he died in 1991.’’
One Night of Queen will give 17 performances in New Zealand. They play in Palmerston North on Thursday, August 31. Phone 06 357 9740 or ticketdirect.co.nz.
