Helping clients live the lives they want

The Tribune (NZ) - - YOUR BODY -

Massage and hypnotherapist Shirley Henderson is now well established in her new practice.

Shirley, a well-known massage therapist in the Manawatu for 17 years, established Shirley Henderson Hypnotherapy in the Westside Centre, The Square, in 2016.

Shirley is trained as a senior professional clinical hypnotherapist with Hypnosis New Zealand, enabling her to provide skilled therapy treatment for her Manawatu clients. Last year she embarked on an ongoing education programme which provided her with additional professional qualifications.

She says hypnotherapy is the process of using suggestions and visualisations, designed to help people achieve any desired goals or positive change by facilitating new patterns of behaviour.

‘‘Hypnotherapy has become one of the most trusted and effective of all natural therapies and can assist with habits, confidence, anxiety, stress, sleep, motivation, feeling positive and becoming 100 percent smokefree and addiction free,’’ she says.

‘‘I help clients make positive changes in their lives to enhance their overall wellbeing.

‘‘This provides them with skills to live the life they truly desire.’’

Shirley emphasises that the majority of clients only need one session to address their issues. However, in recent weeks, she’s written two specific programmes, one to help people with weight loss and the other for business people to succeed in sales.

‘‘These programmes require three sessions for clients to achieve their goals,’’ Shirley explains.

As well as hypnotherapy, massage is a timeless therapy that helps to alleviate stress, burn out, strains and pains.

‘‘Massage is for hard-working people who want to remain relaxed and healthy and is no longer the privilege of the rich and famous,’’ Shirley says.

‘‘You deserve the revitalising experience of a relaxing or remedial massage for yourself or as a special and thoughtful gift for someone else.

‘‘I treat each of my clients with integrity and respect and it’s my goal to have everyone leave my clinic feeling better than when they arrived.’’

Shirley invites people to contact her if they require further information or simply have a chat about her services in a confidential and relaxed atmosphere.

She points out that massage and hypnotherapy are two separate but complementary treatments that she provides.

‘‘If you’re suffering from stress, are burnt out, feeling overwhelmed and just needing some time out, then either massage or hypnotherapy or both can play a significant role in how you feel,’’ she says.

Shirley welcomes existing or new clients to her practice, either at Palmerston North or Bulls and offers a free 30-minute hypnotherapy consultation, by appointment.

She has eftpos and accepts Bartercard.
