Mobility Manawatu on Ruahine St, in Terrace End, has always made a point of keeping up with the latest innovations in mobility and earlier this year they released two major products.
‘‘We are focused on improving the lives of people who have mobility challenges,’’ owner Rob Stick says.
‘‘The way they get around in their house and especially helping them become more mobile outside the home.
‘‘These two products really can make a difference to people’s mobility and allow them to get more enjoyment out of life.’’
The Jazzy Air is an electric powered wheelchair which also elevates the user up to 25cm in height.
‘‘This means people can talk face to face with other people, they can easily access shop counters, get products down from shelves, sit around with friends in a bar and, most importantly, it gives the owners a much greater sense of independence,’’ says Rob.
The Jazzy Air will lift to its full height in 16 seconds and you can also drive at speeds of up to 6kph at full elevation.
Mobility Manawatu co-owner Letitia Stick and retail specialist Lynda will be only too pleased to give anyone a test drive.
Their second new product is the range of e Zee electric bikes. These come in a variety of styles to suit various requirements as well as the capability of the user.
The range includes an about-town model for shopping or work, a trail bike for off-road adventure and there’s even a trike for increased stability.
‘‘These bikes allow people who have lost some of their mobility to enjoy the freedom and independence of riding a bike,’’ Rob says.
The e Zee bikes are simple to operate and you can switch from pedal power to electric power just with a twist of the wrist.
The bikes can also help to improve people’s fitness simply by having a bike that they know will have the power to get them home again, he says.
Independently owned and operated, Mobility Manawatu stocks a complete range of mobility aids and, with their professional and friendly services, can be relied on to provide the very best advice on mobility needs.
