HEALTHY PLACE TO LIVE

The Tribune (NZ) - - CONVERSATIONS -

I would like to congratulate Palmerston North City Council on their continued commitment to making the city a healthier place to live.

Their evaluation of the smokefree permit requirement to have tables and chairs on the footpath shows, that smokefree outdoor dining is achievable, easy to implement and doesn’t affect business.

I would like to challenge other councils around the country to create outdoor smokefree dining in their areas and for central government to seriously consider implementing national legislation for smokefree dining.

Sally Darragh, Heart Health Advocate Manawatu/Mid-Central Branch
