7 Days coming back to city

The Tribune (NZ) - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS - MIRI SCHROETER

Comedian Jeremy Corbett plans to take the rest of the 7 Days cast on a grand tour of Palmerston North during a national tour of live shows.

On December 1, the cast, including Dai Henwood and Paul Ego, will be at the Regent attempting to make Palmerstonians laugh.

The tour is visiting 11 centres, and while Corbett said the crew were keen to replace Palmerston North for a new location, he convinced them that once again the city would have the best crowd.

‘‘It’s always a good time and I’m always really proud.’’

Corbett grew up in Palmerston North - learning his trade of making people chuckle at Massey University.

In previous years he tried to organise a guided tour but was always left riding solo in the van, he said.

The others were missing out on great sights such as the Hokowhitu Lagoon, the Victoria Esplanade and Massey University, Corbett said.

The small city was a great place to start his career as it was a welcoming and nurturing incubator, Corbett said.

From Palmerston North it was then easier to transition to Wellington and Auckland, he said.

Ego, Henwood, Ben Hurley, Josh Thomson, Jeremy Elwood and Justine Smith will join the tour.
