New Zenith gym owners think big

The Tribune (NZ) - - CONVERSATION - SHAUN EADE

The new owners of Zenith Fitness have big plans for its future.

Kelsey Woodmass, Darryl Dickerson, Natasha McConchie and Stuart McConchie took charge of the gym earlier this month.

Woodmass will look after the day-to-day running of the gym as its administration marketing manager.

The others will continue their jobs, with Natasha McConchie the office manager at Summerset, Stuart McConchie working for Booth Transport and Dickerson the transport manager for ELE Group.

The quartet said they had no plans to make major changes early on.

‘‘We want to foster the culture that is already here. It already has a great culture,’’ Natasha McConchie said.

Zenith, on Tremaine Ave, was established by Stephen Hoey and Liz Baker in 2013, but the couple announced they were selling it in December.

Darryl Dickerson said it was a business that he had been eyeing up, even before it had been listed.

‘‘I looked at a few other businesses and this one came along, which happened to be my gym,’’ he said. From there he enlisted his partner, Woodmass, and the McConchies.

The gym has about 1300 members and the quartet hopes to increase that further.
